    10 Key Messages

    1. Formal IG programs are not consistently evident within organizations
    2. IG program implementation barriers focus on lack of awareness of value
    3. IG is increasingly felt to harmonize multiple information disciplines
    4. Change Management plays a key role in IG programs
    5. Assessment tools are used by the vast majority of IG professionals
    6. IG programs completed in the past 3 years focus on 2 tasks
    7. Planned IG projects most commonly focus on 3 key areas
    8. Desirable projects are led by the execution of a comprehensive legacy data clean-up project
    9. The strongest IG drivers remain consistent
    10. More than three-quarters of consultants, legal advisers & sellers predict revenue and product growth

      2. IG program implementation barriers continue to focus on lack of awareness of value
      3. IG programs are becoming more proactive
      4. Change Management now plays a less significant role in 2022 than in 2021
      5. Assessment tools continue to be used by a majority of professionals
      6. IG projects completed in the past 3 years most frequently focus on one keytask
      7. Planned IG projects continue to most commonly focus policy / procedure updating
      8. Desirable projects are led by the execution of a comprehensive legacy data clean-up project
      9. The strongest IG drivers remain consistent
      10. Two-thirds of consultants, legal advisers & sellers predict revenue and product growth

    • Vendors of Records Management and Information Governance only use AI Artificial Intelligence as a Label just using pre-defined rule-based Algorithms and re-playing recorded human Actions from the User Interface.
    • Automation is the Key to effective Information Governance and AI Artificial Intelligence is the future Backbone of Automation.
    • Continuously maintaining good practices in Records Management, Information Governance and Information Security is only possible with Automation and AI Artificial Intelligence.
    • AI Artificial Intelligence helps to overcome the Bottle Neck of Information Capture.
    • AI Artificial Intelligence cannot only be used when capturing Information but as well with Retrieval, classifying, interpretating, weighing and expanding the Search Terms and their Context.
    • Automated Classification of Documents by AI Artificial Intelligence is much more accurate than the Classification by a Human on Monday Morning after a visiting a Baseball Match on the Weekend.
    • Together with Analytics AI Artificial Intelligence can be used to evaluate existing Repositories to automatically create efficient and suitable Taxonomies, Classification Schemes and File Plans, which fit to the real existing Information Landscape of an Organization.
    • Proper Information Governance is under threat when top secret classified records are found in a country club and the supposed thief is not indicted so far.
    • The perception of AI Artificial Intelligence in Europe is different from the American View – it is more scientific, more substantial and deeper in understanding than the superficial use of the Term AI in the US.
    • For Information Governance an only technical AI Artificial Intelligence approach is just a Hype – it’s all about people, we need more Awareness, Training and Responsibility by the Users.

    – Records Management & Information Governance (Uli)
    – Government Use of AI in Information Management (Nick)
    – Computer Forensics & eDiscivery (David)

Moderiert wurde das Panel von Pat (Patricia C. Franks, Professor em. San Jose State University, patricia.franks@sjsu.eduSan Francisco Bay Area, California, slisweb.sjsu.edu/programs/master-archives-and-records-administration-mara). Pat Franks ist Autorin des Standardwerkes „Records and Information Management“ und Mitherausgeberin der „Encyclopedia of Archival Science“.

Teilnehmer neben Uli (Dr. Ulrich Kampffmeyer) waren:

Nick (Nicholas Wittenberg, J.D,., Associate Vice President, Specialist Leader, Deloitte, nwittenberg@deloitte.com) war unter anderem Senior Legal Counsel im „The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy“.

David (David A. Greetham, Principal at PC Forensics, david@pcforensics.com; Houston, Texas).
